Every Thursday I am going to post a picture that is powerful, that expresses emotion, and speaks volumes to me. Here's one that is worth a thousand words.
I enlarged the picture below because it was brought to my attention that it was difficult to see in the small size.
This man really tugs at my heart strings because of the challenges that he most certainly faced in life. According to the signs that he holds on occassion, this man is deaf and mute. He is also missing his lower limbs from above the knees. He frequents the corner of the parking lot entrance to Wal-mart. He begs for money; holding his hands in front of him as if praying that passers by will give him a hand out. Everytime, with out passing judgement on the more fortunate for not stopping, he says, "Thank you" in sign language. He is only one out of a dozen that I see on a regular basis. They seem to have their own designated spots: sitting at the entrances to stores, on corners, at highway exits, and walking back and forth along medians at busy intersections. Most walk right up to your car.
Thanks so much for visiting and remember to ALWAYS enjoy your own life's wild ride!
Oh, that's so sad. It was hard to see because that pic is small, but at first it looked like the truck in the background maybe hit the wheel chair. Thank God that wasn't the case!

ReplyDeleteIf you click on the picture it gets bigger...anyway, the world would be a much better place if everyone would put themselves in a position of those less fortunate ;-)
