A Summary of our Days

Hello, to all our readers of Our Life's Wild Ride! I am going to start taking a different approach to my blogging. Everyday, I am going to try to post something: pics, what we've been doing, thoughts, feelings (I know what you're thinking, spare me the drama...there will be very few of those, I promise). It will more like an online journal to share with all of you. I will also include some pics of things that are unusual or bit strange compared to what we are accustomed to as Ohioans living in Texas.

Today is day one...

This was very strange to me at first...medians down the entire length of streets. These just make things more complicated or less complicated. It depends on if you are the unlucky person who can't make a left on to the main road or the lucky one with out idiots blocking traffic to make a left hand turn.

At first, I thought these ladies were nuns...of a modern sort, I guess. I gave them $2 to find out that they were from the local misssion.

This is a picture of my very good friend, Kahn, the Wal-mart greeter! (nah, not really) And that JELL-O? uhh, where am I anyway? Just funny to see.

We made a trip into downtown Houston for the Bayou Arts Festival. This was a pencil drawing that we thought was really interesting.

We went to the new house to meet with the home inspector so that he could review his findings with us. While there, of all things that Kathryn could possibly find to play with, she chose to play with the water dripping out of the down spout. 15 minutes of water fun and she wasn't ready to leave when it was time. So David carried her off kicking and screaming. That's the way it has been with her lately. Everything is a major catastrophe. The terrible twos or girl drama? I haven't quite decided yet.

But, "...we had something more fun to see!"

We took a walk to the lake near our new house...just a couple short videos to show what this community is like...

And here are some fine feathered friends that we met at the lake...she waves at everything, everyone, and every animal. It doesn't matter if they are alive or on t.v.; she waves and waves. And if we're out doing errands and she waves at someone who doesn't wave back, she gets offended.

This week we received pics of David while he ran in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. We are so proud of him! Look at his face of determination and perserverence! We are so proud of him for staying motivated and sticking with his fitness goals. A copy of this pic can be ours for just $25! No thanks.

This week I started hangin' up our whites and I'm sure that our neighbors have been giving our townhouse some strange looks lately. This morning, I noticed a woman across the way looking a little bit too long at our balcony. We don't have a clothes line, nor a backyard large enough for one, so this is how I've chosen to dry our cloth diapers...Sorry, folks, it's not much longer that you have keep looking at our whites.

Bobbin' for strawberries and cool whip! yum, yum! I set it on her tray and waited to see what she'd do with it...she had fun!

Kathryn and I went for a walk this morning, and as soon as she saw where we were headed she got very excited. I had to walk past the park in order to get to the entrance, and she thought we weren't going in and had a fit. David showed up just as we were heading over to the swings. We had a good time and as you can see from a few of the pics she is doing more big girl things lately...she really likes the big kid swing! So much that she didn't want to get off! (Note to Gramma: don't worry, David was right there with her!)

I found this waiting patiently on our patio screen door for me to come home so that I could let him out. He was ugly but an awfully friendly fella though, just much more friendly outside. Speaking of our many legged friends...Kathryn and I made a trip to the grocery store (Kroger's actually, yes they are still around!) and what scurried right past us? A gecko! Eeck! Then, I remembered how much these Houstonians appreciate these little guys, because they eat the bugs. Well spiders eat bugs, but I don't want them shopping with me or going to let them shack up in our home. Our realtor said she told her sons NOT to kill or remove the gecko that lived in the bathroom because of his diet habits; and afterall, it's not like we have bunch of them. There's only one. That's what you think! Ugh!

Wow, these past two years really have just flown by since Kathryn was born! I can't believe we'll be celebrating her life already again! Here's a pic of her birthday picture outfit...

Come on, did you really think I would share that with you?

Kathryn's Halloween costume is ALL picked out and ready to be worn! Here's a picture of her wearing one of her friends...

Well, I hope you didn't fall for that again...I can't reveal her costume before she's had all her fun?

Thanks so much for visiting and remember to ALWAYS enjoy your own life's wild ride!
