This is really two posts in one. The packers were eager to get started early Tuesday morning. This was really strange for me to sit and do absolutely NOTHING while someone else packed our lives into boxes. And then to see our possessions loaded up onto the truck. Every square inch of the truck was used. Our things were jam packed in the truck from top to bottom. According to the movers this would make it less likely that any damage would be done to our property. Uh, oh boy! I suddenly got a sick feeling in my stomach! It was bad enough that when they started loading up the truck I began to think that I may never see our things again. After all, what IF some unforeseen circumstances lead to an accident in which the truck is engulfed in flames and our belongings aren't salvageable? That was only one of the scenarios I came up with that day. I did pack some things, mainly Kathryn's things into clear plastic containers so that when I needed something of hers could be easily located. But other than that they packed EVERYTHING else! Even the screws that David had put in the garage the day before from the kitchen cabinet doors. He looked for replacements at the local stores but who would have ever thought that they wouldn't make an exact replica of the hardware that was made nearly 45 years ago! He said he would have to bring the hardware back from Houston on his next trip!
David making some last minute necessary repairs!
Yes, they even loaded our vehicle up onto the truck! Wow! Once our vehicle was loaded, shelves were placed above it in order use that space as well. And then there came that sick feeling again! Oh my, what will it be a dented hood or a cracked windshield?
Thanks so much for visiting and remember to ALWAYS enjoy your own life's wild ride!
I imagine it would be a hard thing to watch your life be all packed up in a moving van, without being able to have control over what was going on. I am glad it made it there safely...
