On October 20th our dear, sweet, little girl turned two years old! Wow, I really just can't believe how fast she has grown. They really do grow up too fast. In celebration of Kathryn and her life, we did various things that we thought she would pick to do, if she could. And, because we couldn't celebrate with friends and family we had to bring the party to you! We hope you enjoy this post and feel like you were part of our celebration!

We celebrated her birthday over several days since it was all too much to do on a weekday evening.
Tuesday...we started by opening a birthday package from Gramma and Papa. Gramma wanted her to have something to open on her birthday.

Then, we went to pick-up David from work and and headed to the Aquarium Restaurant located in downtown Houston. Kathryn really likes to watch fish, so we were certain she'd enjoy a birthday dinner at there.

Kathryn telling us how old she is...and I scored a free sundae for  Kathryn  David...because she was more interested in eating the M & Ms off the plate...

We had a great time...and she is always ready to entertain!

and there was a lot to look at...

After dinner we took a stroll outside...

and new friends to meet. They give downtown carriage ride tours.

How fun...I think she may have been imitating the water at this point...

hmm...I'm thinking about it...afterall, water is so much more fun...

to touch than just looking at it! Fortunately, she was no match for David's baseball reflexes!

This evening just wouldn't seem complete if we didn't finish it with a carousel ride...

Thursday...we ate yummy, yummy cake...I really, really wanted to bake and decorate her cake, but decided that this 1/8 sheet cake would have to do. Since, it is just the three of us and besides who wants a whole cake calling to them from the fridge? My sweet tooth and I do!

Kathryn's birthday present this year from us was

A Timeless Classic on Three Wheels...

and still candy apple red;                                                                                                                                                 I think the Radio Flyer has out done itself.
It folds up for easy storage and portability, the step in between the back wheels was replaced with a trunk, and it has more secure seating complete with a handle on the back for me! Thanks so much in advance to the Radio Flyer Company for all the exercise I am sure to get! I thought this would be the perfect gift for her, as she has been watching the big kids on their bikes, lately.

Thanks so much for visiting and remember to ALWAYS enjoy your own life's wild ride!

Sounds like you all, or should I say ya'll had a very nice birthday. Nice planning! I saw this bike only in pink, I like the red better and boy they certainly made some nice changes! Kathryn looks like she really enjoyed her birthday cake and the rest of the celebration. Nice idea to combine over several days, its not so overwhelming.

  2. WHAT A FABULOUS CELEBRATION!!! I love it! Everything was perfect--from the cake to the restaurant, to the gifts! You are so thoughtful, and I am sure she loved every second! Please tell her happy birthday from us because you KNOW the kids would have loved to tell her in person if you were here!
