In this Home that Love Built...

we have not been up to a whole lot here on the home front.

The one thing that has consumed most of our time lately (other than David’s fulltime office job and my fulltime job as a wife and mother) has been house hunting; actually, I liken it to home hunting.

David started his new position here in Houston, TX in October, 2008. Last year around this time, Kathryn and I met him here to visit. We also spent some time then touring some area neighborhoods. Looking for a house that you like may be easy but finding a home certainly isn't.

Once our move was complete, we gave ourselves one month to get settled as much as we could, and then, I wanted to hit the ground running looking for a home. Pretty much on a daily basis one of has devoted some time to our home hunting project. While David can file just about everything upstairs and recall details of a listing based on address alone, I need SO much more to stay focused including a spreadsheet and map to refer to. David has a map upstairs as well. We have seen so many great houses but not the one we wanted to call home. So many, ruled out for reasons based on floor plan, location, or lacking neighborhood amenities, like an area pool. Plus, there are just way too many neighborhoods to pick from. Finally, we narrowed things down and settled on an area called Cinco Ranch in Katy, TX, northwest of Houston. To view a map of the area, go here. Then, we looked at neighborhoods with in Cinco Ranch and narrowed our search down to several different areas we liked. On a daily basis we check those neighborhoods we like, waiting for the right house for us to call home.

We will update you when we have found our new home!

Thanks so much for visiting and remember to ALWAYS enjoy your own life's wild ride!
